Just got back from visiting the other NYC... Chicago. I'd been wanting to go for about five years now and I finally made it out there to taste the city. My boyfriend knows how big of a foodie I am and part of my Christmas present was taking me out there to taste all of what Chicago had to offer. I'm not a picky eater, actually I pretty much like everything (excluding meatloaf). The city was ours and I was ready to stop into any cafe, pub, deli or bistro... and we did. Our first stop was at the top of the Hancock building where we decided to get some tasty hot drinks to start our day off. I ordered a mixed coffee drink and my boyfriend decided to go with the mixed hot chocolate drink. Mmmm, Mmmm tasty!

Then we were off to do some shopping... when we stumbled on a really cute and festive French Bistro. And since I'm always hungry, it was time for lunch. The place was packed so we sat at the bar, which most of the time I prefer that anyway. I decided to go with the chicken sandwich with roasted vegetables and pesto aioli. And the boy decided to go with the burger. They were both good, but I was really interested in was the bread. What came with the bread really... the roasted garlic bulb. The take the whole bulb, cut off the top put it in foil and roast it in the oven. Now, I've done this at home a few times... but something about this was different. Maybe it was the atmosphere we were in.. I bet that was it.

That was our first day in the city! More to come...
